Condoms for the Elderly
It's part of an effort to educate the aging about HIV and AIDS. Free testing has been offered in conjunction with the condom giveaway.
New York has the most HIV cases of any American city -- nearly 100,000. The city has budgeted $1 million toward HIV education for older people.
Officials said that many seniors believe that they can't contract the virus, but health experts said new infections can happen among older people.
New York officials also said they want make a more welcoming environment for seniors who already have the virus.
It's about time condoms started being marketed to the elderly. What the elderly need as well is lots of lube! The firm that figures out how to sell buckets of lube to the elderly is going to do well.

Top Ten Weirdest Japanese Condom Packages
Steve Levenstein takes note of some of the weirdness, culturally speaking, of Japanese condom packaging design. We're all on board with bring these condom designs to your attention, but of course I kind of like em. If there is anything that is overplayed it is the skuzzy inclination many manufacturers have had in the past to design condom packages with scantily clad babes as the central feature. Don't get me wrong I loves me some scantily clad babes, but I think they can do better.
We've already brought Radical Suzuki's designs to your attention. A few of these are on our radar for future comment. The one we particularly find interesting is the fish design. Very nice!
And yes what is up with that Okomoto design - Fe + Male ? Eeeek! Fortunately those have been discontinued and have been renamed the Beyond Seven Aloe condoms. Which while the new name certainly doesn't have the bizarre and incongruous cultural baggage of Fe + Male at least gets the point across and uses the word "aloe" which probably everyone is aware of and most feel is a positive indicator of a good name for a condom. This Fe + Male design is obviously all part of the new trend to market condoms directly to women (which we'll have more on soon).

Adriana's Flickr Files
A few weeks ago we pointed to Adriana Bertini's nice showing of her condom based dresses at the Armand Hammer Museum here in Los Angeles. It turns out she has a flickr account and is posting pics of other exhibits she is putting up. Check it out!

Our First Fishtank
One of our loyal readers has sent in a great video on "How to Use a Condom." Needless to say Condomania believes there needs to be more of these type of instructional videos out in the "wild." Good job Jeff! We approve!
UPDATE Bonus points if you know what this posts title refers to.
