Condoms for the Elderly
Officials in New York are giving away condoms to an unlikely crowd — senior citizens.
It's part of an effort to educate the aging about HIV and AIDS. Free testing has been offered in conjunction with the condom giveaway.
New York has the most HIV cases of any American city -- nearly 100,000. The city has budgeted $1 million toward HIV education for older people.
Officials said that many seniors believe that they can't contract the virus, but health experts said new infections can happen among older people.
New York officials also said they want make a more welcoming environment for seniors who already have the virus.
It's about time condoms started being marketed to the elderly. What the elderly need as well is lots of lube! The firm that figures out how to sell buckets of lube to the elderly is going to do well.
