Art Condoms

I met with Robert Williams today at his home in Chatsworth. Elegant and spare, it is accented with some very unique décor - a dental exam chair, an antique blasting detonator, and a tattooed unidentifiable body part preserved in a jar.

I also had the good fortune to see his progress on paintings intended for an upcoming gallery exhibition in NY. The completed work was both exhilarating and extraordinarily disorienting.

We picked out portions of some of his classic paintings to use for several Robert Williams Condoms. I will be laying these out starting tomorrow, and plan to have them in production shortly.

Before our time was up, we chatted about some of his favorite artists, including Coop and Johnny Ryan. Robert was very pleased to hear about the Johnny Ryan Angry Youth Condoms. He sent me back to the Condomania offices armed with telephone numbers of some of his colleagues from the Zap Comix days.
